Family get together July 4. 3 days before departure

We are getting close now.  Getting together with our family before we leave is very important, and what great timing to celebrate on the 4th of July.
Our sons Gordon and Stephen, their wives, Michele and Kristen, our grandson Austin with his girlfriend Rebecca, and our best friend for the past 27 years, Mike Whitlow, joined us in celebrating.  The only MIA was our granddaughter Destiny who was spending the week with her biological father.  We really hope we'll be able to see her before we leave, otherwise we will have to wait until next year when Gordon & his family come to visit us.
(clock wise from left lower: Myself, Michele, Stephen, Mike, Austin, Rebecca, John, Kristen, Gordon)

We had grilled burgers with all the fixings then watched fireworks right from our yard at Green Caye Village RV Resort.  A nice breeze was blowing by the time the fireworks started, and with a light sprinkling of rain, the 90+ degrees cooled off to a comfortable low 80's.
It wasn't all fun & games though.  We had to get the spare tire mounted to the cargo trailer.  The end cap on the awning lost a screw which Stephen replaced for us. There was a list of items that will need to be addressed today.  For example, Gordon will be installing the air-compressor on my Ram 3500, and he informed me that my spare (only on the ground once) has dry rotted and will need to be replaced today.
John & Mike will be getting the tires aired up on the cargo trailer, packing the rifles in gun cases in the cargo trailer so we can get through Canada.  I've got to get the kitchen cabinets arranged and ready for travel.  What works when you are parked long term doesn't work on the road.
We plan to hit the road by 10:00 on Monday morning, taking a route out of the Houston area that will hopefully avoid major traffic.  We are really getting excited to go.  Our friend Mike is going through withdrawal already (actually since last January).  He and John are so close, but he's flying up to visit us in August.  Stephen & Michele are flying up the end of August.  Family separation is looming but we have SKYPE, Facebook, and FaceTime to keep us together.
