Day 5. Greetings from Great Falls Montana

Wow, what a day, a very, very long day. 554 miles in 12 hours.  Our best ever day (so far).  Tired, weary, and hungry, we finally found a place to spend a couple of days unwinding.
We didn't plan to do this many miles, or drive this many hours.  Originally we thought of stopping in Billings, but we made such good time, it was too early to stop.  Plan 2:  find a campground on route 87 between Billings and Great Falls.  That didn't work because THERE ARE NO CAMPGROUNDS ON THE ROUTE PETULA (our Garmin) SENT US ON.  She decided (unbeknownst to us) that we should take the "fastest" route.  To her that means avoiding traffic lights and slow speed limits.  It also means that we end up traveling on very rural roads with only 2 rest areas and 2 fueling stations for 241 miles!!!!!  Plan 3:  Drive til we drop (I'm not in favor of this but it seems the only option left to us.
Using our All Stays app we found 2 campgrounds as we enter Great Falls that are full.  The Military CV-All Stays shows a FamCamp on Malstrom AFB (in Great Falls of course), but when I call the number, the recorded message says they are only open Tuesday and Thursday "Please leave a message".  Third time is a charm,  Dick's RV Park has a spot available for 2 days (we need to decompress), it is a back in with full hook up, and a space to park John's Durango and the cargo trailer.  $36.59 with tax  per night but cable and WiFi (poor, so I'm using ours).  Centrally located so we can do some shopping and exchange some good ole American greenbacks for the Canadian funds we'll need at the border for our duty fees. (We are bringing some things with us from Texas that we have to pay duty on.  I will not elaborate.)
Got a few pics today.  This first one John took of the "kids" all relaxed in the Durango.

A pic of John driving behind me as seen in my mirror.

That's is my story, and I'm sticking to it.  Good night and good dreams.

If you are still at Great Falls, the Falls are worth seeing.
